Family Escapes Nipigon House Fire

A house fire in Nipigon has left a family without a home.

A family friend says the house caught fire at about 3:30 am on Monday.

The spokesperson adds a mother and her three children, aged two, six, and seven, along with the pet dog managed to make it out safely, but the house was completely destroyed.

There is no indication from officials what may have caused the blaze but the spokesperson speculates it likely started outside and may have been accidental, the result of an electrical problem.

If you would like to help, a family friend has set up a ‘Go Fund Me’ page for the family here.
