The NHL’s newest team has a Thunder Bay connection.
The Seattle Kraken have hired Thunder Bay-born Norm Maciver, who spent the last 14 seasons working with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Maciver will serve as the team’s Director of Player Personnel.
During his on-ice career, Maciver played defense from 1982 to 1999, with stints in the NHL, American Hockey League, International Hockey League, and Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
The NHL regular-season schedule begins January 13.
