‘Push Back The COVID Fatigue’ Says Top Doctor

Ontario’s top doctor is again telling us not to let our guard down.

Dr. David Williams says even though the COVID-19 vaccine is here were are still a month or two away from the general population getting inoculated.

There were 3,270 cases reported in the province today with almost 60 percent of those in the Toronto, York, and Peel Region.

“We cannot say just because vaccines are here we can be casual about it, because you are seeing numbers have gone up fairly aggressively during the holiday season and people have not maintained total vigilance to that regard,” notes Dr. Williams.

Ontario’s Chief Medical official explains while the latest COVID numbers in the province are high, they reflect the situation prior to Christmas.

He adds we should “Try and push back the COVID fatigue. Vaccines are on the way but we have another month, two or three to push forward on this one here while we try to deal with our most vulnerable and highest priority groups first.”

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
