The COVID-19 assessment centre is keeping busy after relocating to Confederation College.
The centre already had some staff at the college but fully moved to Confederation around two weeks ago.
Coordinator Julia Bailey says they have been seeing around 200 people each day for the past month.
“That’s strictly at the assessment centre. We do have a number of those super, super wonderful community partners who also provide testing, and those numbers would be in addition to ours,” she explains.
Bailey notes they moved the assessment centre to make room for COVID-19 vaccinations at the hospital, and could relocate again if needed.
“The assessment centre at the hospital was well-suited for a vaccination location, therefore we decided to move the location of the assessment centre because it is a bit of a more mobile operation,” Bailey says.
