It is something the Chair of Thunder Bay’s Christmas Cheer campaign says this city has never seen, let alone any charity, especially during a pandemic.
Joleene Kemp tells us Thunder Bay has contributed $341,000, as of Monday morning. Last year, the total was just under $140,000, previous years the goal had been in the $116,000 range.
And there’s more, as the Thunder Bay Fire Fighter’s Toy’s for Tots campaign added another $141,000, which is a $10,000 increase for that drive from last year.
Kemp adds this has taken her breath away, along with Acadia Broadcasting’s 36 Hours of Cheer, which added almost $261,000.
This year over 8,500 people were fed, and over 3,900 children received toys.
