Border Closure Extended To January 21st 2021

The federal government has extended the border closure for another month.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reveals the COVID-19 travel restrictions will remain in place at all Canada-United States land crossings until January 21st, 2021.

Tourists and cross-border visits remain prohibited, although there are exemptions

  • Trade and commerce are exempted
  • Certain family members and loved ones who can make a case on compassionate grounds to be allowed into Canada (mandatory quarantine conditions apply)
  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
