COVID-19 Case At Holy Family School

An individual at Holy Family School tests positive for COVID-19.

Officials, in a statement, say parents, guardians and staff of this cohort have been contacted by the school board and were dismissed Friday morning and will be contacted by a Public Health Nurse.

The cohort will remain home and a thorough cleaning and disinfection process will be underway within the school.

“The full investigation will continue to unfold over the next few days. Additional measures and actions will be taken as needed to manage the situation,” says Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janet DeMille. “Public health will contact individuals and families who are directly impacted. Additional updates will be provided to the school community over the coming days by both the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, the school and school board.”

The situation also impacts a Pope John Paul II Elementary school bus cohort.

Those students have been dismissed and public health will be in contact with them.
