District Enters Orange Restriction Level

Expect to be screened for COVID-19 at many businesses as we are now in the Orange or Restrict level of COVID-19 regulations.

We entered that stage just after midnight today, as cases continue to increase in the district.

You’ll also be screened for symptoms at city recreation facilities, which are also enforcing a limit of 50 people.

The pool is considered separate from that total for the Canada Games Complex.

Up to ten people per room are allowed indoors and 25 outdoors in fitness or exercise classes.

No spectators will be allowed, with the exception of one parent or guardian to accompany each child under the age of 18 who is engaged in an activity at the facility. City officials add that patrons may only be in the facility for 90 minutes except if engaging in a sport.

Bars and restaurants will only allow four patrons at a table, and establishments that serve alcohol have to close at 10 PM.

Alcohol can also only be served until 9 PM.

Customers at stores, bars, restaurants, hair salons, gyms and theatres must now be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.

The limits for private functions will remain at ten people indoors and 25 people outdoors, and public events are to remain at 50 indoors and 100 outdoors.
