Strategic planning is a priority of the new president and CEO of the regional hospital.
Rhonda Crocker-Ellacott believes the process should involve the community, the region, and the hospital staff.
“If we don’t do that we will end up with ‘everything is a priority and nothing is a priority’ so it’s critically important for us in the early days to set out what are the priorities of the organization then get fully behind those to set up the organization for the future,” explains Crocker-Ellacott.
The hospital CEO adds it is important to clarify what the vision of the hospital is moving forward.
Immediate concerns for Crocker-Ellacott include staff morale noting it’s “How to ensure that we’re creating an absolutely phenomenal work environment because we know that patient experience many times is directly related to how staff feel.”
The president and CEO started her new duties last Monday.
