The Ford government is trying to make the process of adoption easier.
It is spending $1.5 million to accomplish that goal.
The government signals it is part of a plan to redesign the child welfare system in the province.
The centrepiece of the plan is a centralized service controlled by the Adoption Council of Ontario to help bring prospective parents and children together at a cost of $900,000.
$600,000 is going towards post-adoption training and provides individualized supports to families by expanding Council programs.
