Fatal Crash Closes Highway 17

Update: 5:15 pm Thursday:

Provincial police have confirmed a fatal, three-vehicle crash has closed Highway 17 about 15kms east of Ignace.

The collision was reported around 4:30 this morning and involved three transport trucks.

Pictures released by OPP show a large section of the Trans-Canada covered in lumber.

Highway 17 remains closed between Shabaqua and in Ignace at 599.

It’s not known when the road will reopen, and no further details are released.
