Hajdu Insists Scandal Did Not Force Morneau Out

Thunder Bay’s Patty Hajdu is dismissing claims Bill Morneau resigned from the Trudeau cabinet over the WE Charity scandal.

The Federal Health Minister believes there is “little value” to the argument by the Conservatives there is a cover-up.

“I would say that this is a time where our country is pivoting and trying to plan our course in terms recovery from COVID both from an economic perspective also a social and health perspective,” says Hajdu.

The Liberal MP notes Morneau felt it was the right time to leave politics.

Hajdu tells us she had the chance to work with the former finance minister during the pandemic and says “his economic measures made it much easier for Canadians, for example, to stay at home, ” and he will be missed.
