Warning From Hajdu Concerning Misinformation

A stark warning when it comes to where you get information from about COVID-19.

Federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu says it’s important to pay attention to creditable sources such as government and health units, and she does not mince words about the misinformation out there. “The misinformation this time will kill you. It can actually lead to the death of people you love. So it’s really, really important that people, if they see something on-line, that they actually double check it with a creditable source of information.”

The Thunder Bay MP adds there is no way around this with people of every age dying.

“Young people are getting really sick, middle aged people are getting really sick. Sometimes you don’t know you have an underlying condition. There are a number of reasons why people end up so sick that they’re hospitalized and they sometimes die,” says Hajdu.

The health minister stresses there is no reason for government to put out false information, and to double check anything if it seems questionable, especially on social media.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
