I can remember being a kid, watching TV in our darkened rec room, and hearing that music, and THAT voice, and being SO SPOOKED OUT. That voice, belonging to the late Robert Stack, narrated many Unsolved Mysteries over the years. The mystery documentary series aired on-and-off until 2010, with Stack hosting for the bulk of the run. Focusing on cold cases and paranormal phenomena, the brand has apparently solved over 1,000 cases over the years! We may be able to add more to that tally, because it’s coming back!
Today Netflix released the preview of the first season of their Unsolved Mysteries reboot. It doesn’t seem to have a host, which seems weird to me but, then again, it’s pretty hard to live up to the legend of Robert Stack. There are some originals involved though. Terry Dunn Meurer and John Cosgrove, who co-created the original series are a part of this version.
Check out the trailer below! The new series hits Netflix on July 1st.
And here’s a throwback for you. A little old school Unsolved Mysteries. Beware: A case of the Heebie Jeebies may ensue after pressing play!
Side-Note: Bonus points to Mr. Stack for walking down those steps, with his hands in his pockets, and not looking down once!
