Fire has ripped through Shebandowan Shores Resort, destroying four trailers and the washrooms.
In a posting to its Facebook page, the resort is thanking Conmee and Shebandowan fire fighters for keeping the fire kept to a smaller area, adding it could’ve been much worse.
Resort owner Carol Adduono tells us a young man was in his trailer at around 1 o’clock Thursday morning playing video games, when he heard sounds he felt needed investigating. She says when he looked outside, he saw fire coming from a unit a few down from him. The fire spread, and she says it eventually destroyed her newly renovated washrooms.
It also completely wiped out four lots east of the washrooms.
Shebandowan Fire Chief Tracey Johnson tells us “It could have been a lot worse if the wind had been slightly up we would have definitely lost a lot more trailers than we did.”
Fortunately, there were no injuries, and the cause has not been determined yet.
