Indigenous LU Grads Get Online Ceremony

Over 100 Indigenous Lakehead University students are taking part in an online graduation ceremony tonight.

Denise Baxter is the Vice Provost of Indigenous Initiatives and tells us she’s so proud of the students who are graduating from a variety of programs.

It’s really exciting to me to see all of the work that our young Indigenous people are doing. I look forward to their future and what they’re going to be bringing to their own communities, to the regions of Thunder Bay and Orillia, and really the world,” Baxter says.

The special ceremony is taking place online, and the keynote speaker will be the Assembly of First Nation’s National Chief Perry Bellegarde.
