It’s a big day for hair salons across the city tomorrow, as Friday will be the first time in months they’ll be able to resume their operations.
Michael’s Hair Design & Day Spa Owner, Michael Muia says he’s been in business for 37 years and he’s never been so nervous in his career.
“I’m stressed out and I’m worried at the same time about our business because this is a scary time both financially and scary because of the deadly virus,” Muia said.
People coming in for a hair cut or other service are required to wear a mask and Michael’s staff will be wearing masks or face shields as well.
The salon owner says he’s been fielding calls from clients non-stop and thanks them for their support.
“I’ve been on the phone quite a bit with clients and I definitely respect the receptionists position a lot more these days. I know you’ve all been waiting and I know those roots are getting really long, so you’ve told me. I’ve gone grey too, but we look forward to seeing you,” Muia added.
