A newly reviewed harassment and human rights policy is up for approval at a future Lakehead Public School Board meeting.
Superintendent of Education, Michelle Probizanski says with the recent Black Lives Matter movement and Indigenous community speaking out, the refreshed policy comes at a good time.
“With what the world is dealing with right now it is timely to have a good examination of our human rights policy in order to articulate our commitment to human rights including historically disadvantaged groups,” Probizanski said.
A vote on the policy will take place at the board’s next meeting on June 23rd.
