Toronto Teenager Charged With Murder

Another suspect has been arrested in relation to a homicide investigation at the Midtown Inn.

Police say a 16-year old Toronto boy was taken into custody Thursday, charged with second degree murder, as well as failure to comply with a judicial release, and failure to comply with a sentence.

This is in connection to the death of 29-year old Paul Vivier of Victoria, BC, who was found seriously hurt late Saturday night, May 30th, at the north end inn. He later died in hospital.

Police already have 36-year old Denis Bernard of Thunder Bay in custody, charged with 2nd degree murder, who is waiting for a court appearance next Tuesday.

The teenager is expected in bail court today, Thursday.

This is Thunder Bay’s sixth murder of 2020.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
