CERB Providing Data For Basic Income Advocates

A social researcher feels the COVID-19 pandemic is highlighting the need for a universal basic income.

Bonnie Krysowaty is with the Lakehead Social Planning Council and says federal programs like the Canada Emergency Response Benefit is going to provide a lot of useful data.

“The research in the past has shown that a thriving income enables people to live to the fullest meeting their social determinants of health,” Krysowaty said.

The social researcher says our country will be able to recover quickly if its citizens are provided with a good living wage.
