More Charity Funds Available For Pandemic Relief

There is welcome federal funding for the United Way and the Thunder Bay Community Foundation.

United Way CEO Albert Brule indicates it is a $700,000 grant which is going to pandemic relief in northwestern Ontario separate from the Community COVID-19 Relief Fund.

“So this is a suppliment or an additional amount of funding that is available for non-profit charitable organizations to apply for support,” says Brule.

The United Way CEO notes while the relief fund and this new money may support similar projects, the federal government has recognized some initiatives may require a longer time frame.

Applications for the new funding are now being accepted.
