Canada’s Health Minister appears satisified with how the Ford government is handling reopening the Ontario economy.
Patty Hajdu suggests taking the staged approach is the right way to go while at the same time keeping an eye on the progress of the coronavirus.
“I think that the premier and the medical officer of health are wise to stress that they will be monitoring how the disease progresses and whether or not they see any spikes in disease activity,” says Hajdu.
The federal health minister stresses it remains on all of us to follow the directions which will prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Hajdu notes the Trudeau government has its own decisions to make on when federal civil servants can come back to their jobs and when to open the border with the United States to non-essential traffic.
