More Arrests Made In Attempted Murder

An attempted murder investigation by Thunder Bay police has lead to the arrest of three more suspects.

They say it began on Sunday May 3rd, when a man, who they say had been shot, crashed his vehicle into a barricade at the Regional hospital. The next day, 32-year old Terry Pelto of Thunder Bay was the first to be charged with attempted murder, and other weapons related offenses.

Police say Monday afternoon they charged 24-year old Jacob Daniel Wattie of Thunder Bay with attempted murder, and number of firearms offenses and breach of probation. Also, two 29-year old women, Natalie Marie Salatino from Thunder Bay and another from Peterborough, were arrested for various weapons offenses.

The four suspects all remain in custody after bail hearings.

UPDATE, 1pm:

Police have added more drug related charges against the three newly accused people.

This follows the discovery of cocaine, crack cocaine, paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and money Monday afternoon at a home on Catherine Street.

Police add the value of the drugs is estimated at over $30,000.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
