MOH: Still A Wait & See For How Ontario Is Doing

The province’s top doctor says Ontario still has significant community spread of COVID-19.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams says it appears people are still spreading the illness to each other.

“The ongoing transmission in the community would indicate that still people are having events where they are coming in contact with each other, I’m not talking about our health care workers who have to come in contact with people, I’m talking about in general so we have to watch that,” Williams said.

Ontario’s medical officer of health is stressing how important it is to maintain physical distancing in this critical time in the pandemic.

Williams notes they need to separate the cases of COVID-19 in long term care homes and what we are seeing in the community to truly gauge how we are doing.

The medical officer of health notes Ontario has done a great job in flattening the curve but now they would like to see the number of daily cases coming down.
