A Thunder Bay business owner is making adjustments to his ride sharing service due to COVID-19.
Cody Ruberto is the founder of U-Ride, and tells us he is branching out into home delivery for customers for the grocery store, corner stores and LCBO.
“We did a pre-launch over the last couple of days, it went extremely well. It was having to learn a whole new business, but our team did a great job and we’re ready to go,” says Ruberto.
He says he realizes what it can be like in self-isolation, when he had to phone family and friends during quarantine after a recent soccer trip in Europe.
“Asking people if they can bring me food. Everyone’s in self-isolation, there’s some people who don’t want to go to grocery stores, they don’t want to wait in line,” notes the U-Ride founder.
The U-Ride service he operates is still running, with a few restrictions such as only riding in the back, the driver wears a mask, and prices are the same.
