Another COVID-19 Case For Northwestern Ontario

A confirmed case of COVID-19 has been recorded for the Atikokan area.

The Northwestern Health Unit adds that brings the total to 11 positive cases for that region.

Thunder Bay’s count remains at 36 for the district, with 13 recoveries, and fortunately no deaths.

In Ontario as a whole, there were 483 new cases of COVID-19 reported this morning, or a 6.5% increase, and 43 deaths today. There are now 8,000 positive cases in the province, with 334 deaths total. The number of resolved cases stands at 3,568, with 211 recoveries since yesterday. A total of 113,082 tests have been conducted since the outbreak started in late-January and 2,107 cases are still under investigation.

A State of Emergency will likely be extended another 28 days today.
