Suspected Cocaine Found Following Crash

A 56-year old Thunder Bay man is facing a drug charge after a collision of the TransCanada highway.

Provincial police say they were called just after 3 o’clock Monday morning to a crash scene on Highway 17 near Angler Creek, west of Marathon.

Police began searching a vehicle for a possible prohibited weapon, but instead found about 3-kilograms of suspected cocaine.

A 22-year old Toronto man is also charged, both are at the Thunder Bay jail waiting bail hearings.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
