$82-Billion Aid Package Goes To Senate

An $82-billion aid package to help Canadians endure the COVID-19 pandemic is one step closer to being passed in Ottawa.

M-Ps adopted Bill C-13 at all stages following a debate in the House of Commons early Wednesday morning.

There’s word the government made some concessions to parts the opposition Conservatives didn’t like, such as giving the finance minister major power to spend money without parliamentary approval.

Details on what a new potential deal are have not been revealed.

The bill will now go to the Senate for approval.
