Roots To Harvest Continues To Feed School Kids

Roots to Harvest is helping feed local school kids whose families relied on school food programs that are no longer available because of COVID-19.

Spokesperson Erin Beagle says they are going to be dropping off food at a variety of locations throughout the city Friday afternoon.

“Across eight different locations and we will have about forty to fifty packages at each drop-off spot, and I’m not sure if that is going to fill the need. If you don’t get a food package please let us know and we will make more for the next drop off date,” Beagle said.

Roots to Harvest and their partners expect they’ll be feeding anywhere from 350 families or more.

Beagle is hoping they will be able to do drop-offs every Friday for as long as they are needed.

As for volunteering with Roots to Harvest, they can no longer accept any more people due to social distancing policies but they can take donations of food items.

Beagle joined John Ongaro on the 99.9 The Bay morning show Friday morning.
