More Support For T.Bay Man’s Rare Condition

It’s been almost a month since a GoFundMe was launched for a Thunder Bay man who needs to get treatment in Russia for his rare skin condition.

Adrian Barca’s back is almost fully covered in open lesions and the wounds continue to spread to other parts of his body. The treatment for Barca’s rare condition isn’t covered by the Canadian health care system and antibiotics and pain management have failed to provide him with any relief.

So far, the online fundraiser for him has brought in $9,426 out of their $40,000 goal.

Others have since stepped up to help raise funds including the local spice company Shumka Dust. They are offering special gift packs up until Valentine’s Day, with 25% of all sales to Barca’s GoFundMe page.

A benefit is also being held on April 25th at Paulucci’s Wayland Bar & Grill. A paint night is also taking place on March 27th at Giant Heart Art Studio.
