Quite often we forget that the artists we loved ‘back then’ are still making music today. Sure, some if it misses the mark: the band is trying to adapt with the times, or hasn’t adapted enough and sounds stale, or silly now; However a lot of it is really good but doesn’t get any further than the core fans who still follow the band on social media. A new track from Canadian band Harem Scarem came across my social media today and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was never a HUGE Harem Scarem fan initially, but when Harry Hess released his first solo album back in the early 2000’s, I became a fan and revisited the older albums. If you like hard rocking power-pop songs with great harmony and solid hooks (think Cheap Trick, Firehouse, The Who), look no further! The new track ‘The Death of Me’ certainly has a familiar feel to it, without feeling stale or dated, I’m looking forward to hearing more from their new album ‘Change The World’ which comes out in March.
