There’s no class today for all of Thunder Bay’s English Catholic schools.
Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board says it’s due to a one-day walkout by the union representing its elementary, secondary, and occasional teachers.
The strike also affects the board’s Alternative Education programs.
Teachers and staff with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association are one of several unions involved in ongoing contract disputes with the province.
Parents are being asked to find other childcare arrangements, and contact before- and after-school daycare providers to confirm whether they are operating during the strike.
Union members will be picketing outside of St. Bernard School, Pope John Paul II School , Bishop E.Q. Jennings School and James Street Government Building between 8:30 PM and 3:30 PM.
Meanwhile, public elementary schools will be walking off the job on Thursday.
