Charges Laid In Overpass Collision

A 24-year-old man from Atikokan is charged in connection with a collision which damaged the CN Rail overpass on Highway 61.

The incident happened on November 5th and caused significant damage to the structure and forced the closure of the highway between Neebing and Broadway for several days.

OPP say the man is charged with the following:

– Criminal Negligence contrary to section 219(1)(b) of the Criminal Code,

– Fail to Remain contrary to section 200 (1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act,

– Fail to Report Damage to Property on Highway contrary to section 201 of the Highway Traffic Act.
