Police Board Working On Relationships

The new chair of the police services board wants to lead the organization into a better working relationship with the community, members of the police service and its association.

Georjann Morriseau tells us they are in the process of talking with the police union on whether or not they’ll be providing a monthly update at board meetings. “You know what is it that the police association or the police board are wanting to do collectively and maybe that can be discussed. We’ve yet to formalize any protocol or formalities in that sense and that’s something we may look at.”

The new police board chair feels the relationship was always there they are just now formalizing what that looks like for both parties. The two groups recently sat down to a luncheon to discuss their relationship. Morriseau stresses the board wants to work more with the community as well and ensure they are open to them.
