The city’s roads manager expects they will be working around the clock to address the recent snowfall. Brad Adams tells us whether its 5 centimetres or 25 they are ready to deal with what mother nature throws at them. “We’ll have resources out either putting sand or salt down and we keep monitoring the situation. We mobilize our plows and depending on the amount of snow we may have to clear our main roads more than once before we get to side roads.”
The city official reminds you to pay attention to calendar parking since vehicles on residential streets slow their plowing operation. “If it’s very narrow we can’t get our equipment down the road then we either have to not plow that street or come back later when the vehicles leave.”
Adams notes sidewalk snow plowing started early Monday morning on the main sidewalks in our community and they are making slow progress because of the large amount and weight of the snow. He feels “it will take approximately 5 days to get all sidewalks open due to the amount of snow received over the two days.”
Plowing operations will be scheduled for 2 a.m. Tuesday to plow main and collector roadways and once completed, residential area plowing will resume.
