ER Visits Should Be Steady Over Christmas

Emergency room doctors at the Health Sciences Centre will be ready for you if you have the misfortune of being hurt during the holiday period.

Dr. Bradley Jacobson tells us they will have 11 physicians working in a 24 hour period helping to ensure patient flow is steady. The emergency room doctor explains that number of physicians on staff helps to ensure they can handle any slight surge in ER visits which may occur.

Jacobson adds the Christmas season normally sees a slight increase in the number of injuries related to outdoor activities like tobogganing and skiing.

If you are uncertain about whether to come to the hospital or not, he says you can always check with Telehealth Ontario by calling 1- 866-797-0000.
