With the possible fate of Dease Pool just days away at city council one local man is determined to keep it open.
Ray Smith has been actively leading the charge and disagrees with city administration’s recommendation to close and demolish the outdoor facility at a cost of $260,000. He says “they should use that money and the money they’re are going to spend to turn (the pool) into a piece of asphalt and exotic tennis court” to upgrade and refurbish the pool.
Councillors will be considering the options for Dease Pool on Monday evening.
If the decision is made to close the pool Smith tells us “stay tuned for what happens next.”
