Buses Here For Heating Repairs

A couple of double-decker buses are parked in the Thunder Bay Transit yard.

They are owned by the British company Alexander Dennis Ltd., whose vice-president tells us they are being driven to Vancouver but developed a minor problem that needs to be fixed.

Stephen Walsh says the heating system broke down and to “make the driver’s life a little more comfortable” for the remaining journey out west they decided to stop in Thunder Bay to make those repairs.

A company mechanic is expected in the city on Tuesday to help fix the problem.

The buses originated in southern Ontario where they were built.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
