There are fraud charges for a former Fort Severn First Nation band manager.
Nishnawbe Aski Police say the man is accused of supporting between $25,000 and $250,000 worth of fraudulent activity over a number of years. The 51-year-old can’t be named right now while court documents are being processed.
The investigation began after NAPS made a traffic stop on July 12th. They say a “detailed investigation” followed, and today they announced the man was charged on October 23rd.
Fort Severn First Nation is approximately 850 kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
