Tractor Trailer Strikes Pedestrian

UPDATED 6:00 pm

The Thunder Bay Expressway was partially closed for about six hours following what police tell us was a vehicle/pedestrian collision. It happened between Balsam Street and Red River Road.

OPP tell us their officers and paramedics were called to the scene at around 6:10 this morning. They say the driver of a tractor trailor was heading east when a vehicle struck a pedestrian walking along the highway.
The police say the pedestrian was rushed to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with life threatening injuries.

The Thunder Bay Expressway is now fully open in both directions of the crash scene.
