Harvey Wallbanger

Today is National Cappuccino Day AND National Harvey Wallbanger Day! Even as a kid, I knew what a Harvey Wallbanger was due to it’s popularity on TV shows in the 70’s. For those who don’t know, it’s a cocktail made with vodka, Galliano and orange juice. Not really my cup of tea, so to speak, but honestly every time I hear the name Harvey Wallbanger, I always think of the 70’s Canadian TV Show ‘The Hilarious House of Frightenstein’. Harvey Wallbanger was a puppet monster character that ran the mail room in Frightenstein’s castle (that’s his picture above). The show was an absolute hoot, and any time I hear of it showing up in syndication, I jump at the chance to watch it. Apparently it’s being revived and renewed by a group of people in Southern Ontario, but the original show will ALWAYS be near and dear to my heart. Check out some details on the show here and see an episode below!

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
