Dilico Needs Foster Families

Dilico Anishinabek Family Care is in need of more families and individuals to foster kids. Crystal Hardy is a Lakehead University lecturer and a Nurse Practitioner. Hardy tells us she was fostered by the Dubuis family since she was nine years old and, “luckily I was placed in a foster home that was really supportive and really loving. They have really helped me on my journey and shown me that I can be whoever I want to be.” Hardy goes on to say “I’ve realized that so many of us have many struggles, and we all have our own stories and our past. It’s important to talk about it, recognize it, and to realize where we can use that knowledge we have to help ourselves and others in the future. Having my foster parents in my life really helped shape me and make me who I am today.”

Dilico staff provide a wide variety of supports to foster families that includes cultural education, 24-hour on-call support, and professional support staff. To find out more information about how you can become a foster family to a child or children visit http://www.dilico.com/fostercare
