The fate of the Victoriaville mall will come back to City Council in the New Year.
But first, two consultation sessions are taking place this week to gauge your thoughts on the facility.
Realty Services Manager Joel DePeuter tells us they’ll be asking you in an online survey your hopes for the mall.
“The types of services, experiences and activities you wish you could receive at the mall and in downtown Fort William. We want people to share their ideas, perceptions and visions for the mall so the consultant can consolidate that and bring it back to council.”
You can give your two cents online and in person at Victoriaville on Tuesday. The survey, once it is live, will be found HERE.
City projections suggest that the Victoriaville Centre will continue to lose money at an escalating rate – from a $689,000 operating loss in 2016 to an estimated $824,000 operating loss projected for 2025. The City estimates total losses over a ten-year period at approximately $9.3 million.
City Council hired a consultant earlier this year to look into their options for the mall.
