High Expectations From NAN For Minority Liberals

Nishnawbe Aski Nation wants to see more work from the re-elected Trudeau government.

Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler says they are congratulating Justin Trudeau on his victory, and look forward to more progress on improving First Nations peoples’ quality of life.

He says they have high expectations, noting when Trudeau first won in 2015 they viewed it as the start of a new relationship between the federal government and NAN communities.

NAN is also giving kudos to the winners of northern Ontario’s ridings and acknowledging Liberal Bob Nault who was unseated in Kenora.

They also recognize Marten Falls First Nation member and NDP candidate Anna Betty Acheepineskum, who was defeated in Thunder Bay Superior North.
