Diversity T.Bay Backs Youth Housing Project

A local organization is throwing its support behind an Indigenous Youth Supportive Housing initiative planned for a piece of property on Junot Street South.

Diversity Thunder Bay spokesperson Brenda Reimer tells us they’ve sent a letter in support of the project to Mayor and Council and have shared it online through their social media page.

“We would like people to think of the bigger picture rather than just reacting to, oh this is a proposal for a building and maybe we don’t think this is the best spot for the building, not really having any idea of who it is for and what it could accomplish.”

The decision of whether to rezone the property for this project will be voted on by the city council on October 21st.
