NAN Encourages Fire Safety

The Nishnawbe Aski First Nation is promoting fire safety.

They’re sharing Amber’s Fire Safety Campaign which was launched in May 2016 in memory of Amber Strang, a five-month-old infant and the youngest victim of a tragic house fire that claimed nine lives in Pikangikum First Nation on March 29th, 2016.

The campaign provides smoke alarms and fire prevention awareness to all homes within the NAN territory.

The office of the Ontario Coroner is investigating First Nation fire deaths in the province over the last decade.
