Light The Night Campaign Underway

A local group of cyclists are working on tagging as many bikes as they can with new sets of lights so they’ll have better visibility at night.

Earlier this week, cyclists at Lakehead University got a surprise as volunteers tagged parked bikes according to spokesperson Caroline Cox who describes their campaign as a gorilla blitz.

“We went to downtown Port Arthur, LU and other locations in the future will include Westfort, Confederation College and downtown Fort William.”

This is the third year for the Light the Night campaign which sees almost a thousand lights given out each October.

The initiative is funded by the City of Thunder Bay and delivered in partnership with the United Way.
