Former Resident Vying For Cover Of Maxim

A former Thunder Bay resident is competing in an international competition to become a cover girl for men’s magazine Maxim.

Sherry Navoy now lives in Calgary and wants to win the prestigious competition that comes with a $25,000 US cash prize.

She tells us she would put that money to good use.

“My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for some time now with our second baby and we thought if I won we would use that to pay for IVF [In vitro fertilization], because it’s quite expensive out here in Calgary, Alberta.”

You can vote for the former Thunder Bay resident HERE. The competition is up on November 21st, although voting for group winners in each group ends October 10th at 11 pm eastern time.

Navoy adds the majority of votes she’s received on-line on her facebook page, have been from Thunder Bay.

If she wins she’ll also get a two-page spread in the magazine.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
