Local Kids Spread Environmental Message

Environmentalists are rallying across parts of the city today in their continued climate strike.

At the corner of Red River Road and Water Street, several kids were getting in on the protest including 6-year-old Gretchen Mills.

“What brings me out here is that I love our world.”

8-year-old Caleb McGoy says he’s taking part because he loves animals.

“I want to save all the really cool animals, like eagles, walruses and mooses.”

9-year-old Kilianne McGoy adds she’s taking action because Polar Bears are losing their habitat because the northern ice is melting because of climate change and the plastic we use.

The local group, Fridays for Future, say they will be keeping up their rallies every Friday throughout the city.
