If you have old laptops, cell phones or other electronics that are cluttering your house, EcoSuperior wants to help you safely dispose of them.
The environmental organization is holding an e-waste collection service this weekend with the help of the Ontario Electronic Stewardship.
Spokesperson Aynsley Klassen tells us they were very successful in diverting electronics from the landfill the last time they held this event.
“We collected about 13,000 pounds which to compare is about the weight of three rhinoceros or a t-rex.”
EcoSuperior wants to keep electronics out of the garbage dump because they have harmful chemicals inside them that should be properly dealt with.
The e-waste collection service is being held at the Gateway Casino parking lot from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm Saturday.
